Holy Quran 2:255
------------------
Allah - there is no God except Him (that is Allah); He (Allah) is Eternal (beyond the limits of life and death) and the Upholder (keeps others established); He (Allah) never feels drowsy nor does He (Allah) sleep; to Him (that is Allah) only, belongs all whatever is in the heavens and all whatever is in the earth; who is he (that is anyone among Allah’s creations) that can intercede with Him (that is Allah) except by His (Allah’s) command (or granted permission)? He (Allah) knows what is in front of them (that is in future of all the creations) and what is behind them (that is in the past of all the creations); and they (that is Allah’s creations including mankind) do not achieve anything of His (Allah’s) knowledge except what He (Allah) wills (or authorizes); His (Allah’s) Throne (of Sovereignty) encompasses the heavens and the earth; and it is not difficult for Him (that is Allah) to guard them; and He (Allah) is the Supreme, the Greatest.
Philosophy
A belief in an Almighty God has been a foundational necessity for the mankind. In spite of remarkable capabilities, the human and human-life remains confined within indomitable and invincible bounds and constraints. The orderly systems and functionings of the world and the universe urges man to envisage a Supreme controlling entity and during irrepressible circumstances, human-being eagerly craves for a relief from an Almighty Entity. Thus a concept of God possessing Supreme powers is seen in all religions. In polytheism, such Supreme powers are distributed to different entities or objects, but the entity or the object to whom certain powers are assigned, is recognized to exercise only its specific powers and not others. For instance, a God acknowledged to provide healing cannot preclude disasters and vice versa. In Islamic monotheistic theology, Allah and Allah’s Supreme powers, in all real and imaginable contexts, are far beyond all conceivable and incredible extremes. Allah and Allah’s Supreme powers are immeasurable and unbound and can only be envisaged and can never ever be constrained in a figure, structure or object having undisputed boundaries. A fraction of Allah’s Supreme powers are detailed in the above verses and much more throughout the Qura’n Al Kareem and Ahadeth of Rasool-Allah Sallal Laho Elayhay Wassalam. Moreover, in Islamic doctrine, everything of the universe including the mankind are the creations of Allah, which have specific features and capabilities but also limits and boundaries set by Allah that they cannot conceive or cross. Professing any of the creatures of Allah, as an entity possessing Supreme powers and worthy of worship, negates the basic concept and definition of the word ‘God’ as all are constrained in their confines, while Allah and Allah’s Supreme powers are boundless. This decisive parameter uplifts Islam to a unique trustworthy position as compared with other religions.
